We’re Aerst, an old-school style melodic death metal band from Nagahama, Shiga, Japan.

We formed right in the beginning half of 2022, as kinda a project of an unknown guitarist, who used to be a troll in an obscure Internet community. We originally started off playing modern melodic death metal (e.g. early and later In Flames, Soilwork, Amon Amarth and Arch Enemy) and trying the weirdest way to mixing it with J-pop and Touhou music. As time went on though, it eventually evolved into more a mix of old-school early to mid 90’s melodic death metal (Eucharist, Cromlech, Unanimated, early At The Gates, early Dark Tranquility, early Dissection, Sentenced, Amorphis, and so on) with the early to mid 2000’s metalcore sound (Earth Crisis, Hatebreed, As I Lay Dying), while still keeping traditions of J-pop songwriting and structure.

We currently are needing a bassist, drummer, rhythm guitarist, and vocalist. The 2022 - present material is written solely by the guitarist Yuuki, lyrics and guitars and all.
